Your First 7 Days in PokiPaw: A Practical Setup Guide

You do not need to enter your pet’s entire life on day one. A useful first week creates a small, accurate record and a routine you can maintain.

Days 1–2: Create the profile and add reliable records

Start with the correct pet, species and identifying information. Add a recent photo. Copy a microchip number only from a reliable source and remember that storing it in the app does not register it with the official database.

Add the health documents you already have. Check dates against the originals. If age or history is uncertain, label the uncertainty in your notes rather than presenting an estimate as confirmed.

Days 3–4: Start the diary and treatment list

Record one or two useful daily observations: a meal, walk or event. Write what happened, not a diagnosis. For an existing prescribed treatment, copy the clinic’s instructions and ask about anything unclear. A routine you can sustain is more useful than dozens of incomplete entries.

Day 5: Check reminders on your phone

Review the notification categories and quiet hours, then use the notification screen’s testing option. Check the result on your actual phone. A test alert is not a guarantee of every future delivery; keep your own care responsibilities clear.

Day 6: Review collaboration

If someone helps with care, explore family or sharing options available to your account. Check permissions and plan limits before inviting them. Agree who performs each task and verify that they can access the intended animal, not every record by default.

Day 7: Review and simplify

Look for wrong dates, duplicate items and unclear notes. Try a relevant PDF report and open it yourself before sharing. Keep original veterinary documents too.

Your goal is a dependable starting point: one correct profile, a few verified records, an understandable treatment list and a working care routine. Add more tracking only when it answers a real question.

Is seven days a deadline? No. This is a suggested sequence, not a required onboarding programme or a promise of medical outcomes.
